New Class – Piano Pals!
Small Group Piano for Kids Ages 5-6
This foundational piano course is the perfect first step in learning an instrument! In this course the student will learn the foundations of piano playing, music theory, reading music notation, playing by ear, improvising, composing and more! This class is sure to grow your child’s knowledge, skills, and love of music with a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed just for 5 and 6 year olds!
This class has a rolling enrollment meaning we will assume you are going on to the next level with your class after 10 weeks unless you let us know otherwise.
Materials
Students well each be given a piano book they will use it in class and can bring it home in between to play between classes. It’s recommended that students have a keyboard or piano as this will help the student retain what they’ve learned in class. The students will be given at home activities each week to do with their parents.
How Many Kids are in Each Class?
There will be 2-4 kids in each class.
Is This a Drop Off Class?
This class is designed to be independent from parents. However we ask that if your little one may need help using the restroom during class, that you stick around just in case! If they are able to use the restroom (down the hall) on their own feel free to run an errand. Please return 5 minutes before class ends to receive the at home activities.
Can Kids Join Mid-Session?
Yes! Starting at the beginning of the session is ideal, but with our small class size, we can accomodate new students at any time. We do a lot of review in class so many kids will do just fine jumping in mid-session. A child could also schedule a private lesson or two before jumping into the class to make sure s/he feels comfortable with the material.
How Much Does This Class Cost?
$25/30min class billed monthly.
One time materials fee of $20 for a book and materials used in class
New Class – Group Voice!
Group voice is a great way for students to explore their voices and get comfortable singing with and for others! This class will provide a supportive environment to improve your voice, meet other student musicians, and enjoy singing together. You can expect vocal warm-ups, technique tips, age appropriate songs, fun exercises, music concepts, and a great time! The group voice class will perform at the end of the semester recitals in May and December.
When can I join?
Students can join at any time except the month of a recital (May and December) to allow enough preparation for the performance.
Who is the Teacher?
Randy Hise is an experienced and passionate voice and piano teacher. He provides a comfortable, kind, and accepting environment for his students to learn and grow. Randy has taught years of public school choir, gifted and talented programs, and private lessons.
What is the Cost and How Long of a Commitment Do I Have to Make?
Group Voice is $25/class ($20/class for the second student from the same family) and you must commit to one month at a time. You will be billed for the first month at sign up, then the payments will go through automatically on the first of the month. Enrollment is ongoing until the student decides to cancel or outgrows the age group. Please let us know before the billing goes through on the 1st of the month if you’d like to discontinue classes. We do not refund prepaid classes but you can stop your monthly payments at any time by emailing [email protected]
*If you are already enrolled in private lessons at Altitunes, and would like to add Group Voice we can offer a $5/class discount ($20/class).
